  This image will probably be the album cover as i can use the white background to add bold and clear text including the title of the album and the artist. The golden T indicates as a logo for Tom Waddington. the gold also gives off a theme off success and coming first in something. this could be an indicator telling the audience that this is a debut album.

age: 20

current situation:
 hes doing his second year  at a music college in Bristol doing a guitar course. he lives with 4 other students that go to the university but only really likes 2 of them. hes hardly ever at his house anyway because he stays at where his mate live most of the time because its closer to town center. Jason is in a 4 piece band called "the silhouettes". they try and get as much gigs as they can. jason gets most of them through his music college but not enough to make good money out of it. therefore he also works behind a bar at a smart restaurant. he hopes to  take a gap year after college and go to Australia and surf.

Hobbies and interests:
jasons hobbies include surfing. he trys to go surfing whenever he can in the summer. he takes the train down from Bristol to go meet his friend seb who goes to falmouth university and they goes to the local surf  spots together.

jasons a big festival goer. as his passion in life is music jason trys to go to as much gigs a he can to bands he likes.but when it comes summer festivals are the big things he looks forward to.Reading,boom-town,secret garden party, board-masters, Glastonbury. there is usually a big gang that go to at least 2 in the summer.

skiing: when jason was younger, he was fortunate enough to go  on skiing holidays when he was younger and learned very quickly.he became quite a intermediate but hasn't really been able togo recently because of the money factor. however  Jason is definitely going to try and do a ski season in the winter of his gap year.

fashion: hes not massively into fashion as in like following it and reading all the magazines to see whats hot or not. but he takes pride in what he wears and wants to look good. his dress sense varies on what he feeling or even what the weather's like. he can dress as mabey mod one day then skater  the next. he doesnt buy loads of cloths he preferes to save up more and buy one really nice thing.

film: film is another great interest of his. it sort of goes with the music, the whole creative production thing. he loves  to watch films all the time and loves to critique them with mates ect. he prefers the highly and critically acclaimed  films such as the godfather,resovire dogs, 12 angry men. that kind of stuff.

my chosen track

after evaluating which songs to do for my music video. i have come to the decision to make a music video for my song "officer". this  was a  close decision with Alex turners "stuck on the puzzle".  but i finally decided "officer" as i think that because the song is mine i would find it easier to make an effective video as i personally know what the songs about and know what emotions and atmosphere i want to put across. i feel that the song is upbeat enough for me to make an entertaining video. i feel if i chose a too sad song i would make the video a bit boring.

basic video idea.
 the song is about a man trying to find himself and his way in life. to represent this i want him at the beginning of the video to be in his bed. then he decides to go for a run in normal cloths. he see's himself wanting to give up but when hes just about to give up, he see's something that reminds him of his sad life back at home. this spurs him to carry on running. nearing the end of the video you can see a change in the mans attitude towards life. the climax of the video is that he runs to the top of a hill and throws his arms out with to express to the audience his anagnorisis. his moment of realization.

potential songs for my music video.

1.officer by tom Waddington (me)

This song would be my first choice as its one my own.songs. I feel this would be a good opportunity to get a music video for myself and help my publicity. i feel that it would also be good as  i know what i think would be good in the video as i wrote the song. i have a good image in my head on what would suit the song in video terms. i know how fast paced it should be, what emotion it should give off, how the video relates to the song ect. furthermore as its my song i believe that i would do a convincing lip syncing performance as its my voice and I've sung it 100 times.

2. stuck on the puzzle by Alex turner

stuck on the puzzle is off the soundtrack of the comedy drama "submarine". i really love this song and feel that i could make an effective video with just 2 people.(boy and girl as its a love song) i imagine using lots of independent locations,clothing etc. id like to create a similar atmosphere to the film its from which i'm very familiar with.

3. jenny don't be hasty by paolo nutini

 this song is very energetic and i feel is very happy (even though its about not getting the girl). an upbeat video would  appeal to the audience and would be fun to plan and film. i think that the guitar riff and vocals are very edgy and i could portray that with cool fashion and a stylish music video with dancing, parties, ect.

4. left hand free by alt j

   left hand free is a very different, "indie" song. therefore it gives more more opportunity to play around with my music video. in their official "left hand free" video its seen as a very summery song. my video cannot be set in summer as i am filming in the autumn and winter. this means i will have to do something  completely different. i think it would be fun to have a group of people in the dark lighting flairs or fireworks. i think it would suit the song and make a good effect.

why music genres will i focus on.

 

 

which music genres will i focus on.

 

 

 

1.  rock.

     i would find it interesting to experiment making a music video for a soft rock song. Bands i would consider for example would be coldplay,U2,the doors, pink floyd ect. for my possible video i would use more of a softer song than some more of their loud and ROCKY songs. for example some of coldplays songs are particularly peaceful.

     i feel that using rock as a my choice for a music video makes it slightly easier for me as throughout my research, rock music videos dont have you follow the theme of the song. they can almost be anything. as long as they still suit the song.

 

 

 

 

2. solo acoustic.
     a lot of the time solo acoutstic songs usually have a story in the lyrics therfore i will have to find the right song where i acan protrait the story or the subject the song is singing about. artits i would consider would be passenger, jake bugg, tom odell and myself. i think that it would be a good opportunity to use my own music for my music video as is will help promeote myself. i feel io will be able to make a more effective musioc video if i use my own music as i know how i want my song to be portraied and what feel i wangt the audience to fell while listerning and viewing it.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 3 alternative
     very often alternative music is very quirky and a lot can be done with their music videos. if alternavtive hapopens to be the genre i have chosen to use for a video i would try my best to make a video very differnt from others. using eccentric locations, unique actors,and mabey and odd story throughtout the video. Alternative music wants to be alternative. they aspire to be differen t to everyone else. i feel i may flourish from this genre as i have very original ideas. bands i would consider using would be ones such as Alt-j,red hot chilli peppers , the kooks.
